This opera production of Le Roi Arthus by Ernest Chausson was presented at the Tiroler Festspiele Erl festival in Austria in 2022.
Takis served as Performance Designer, creating costume design and set design for this rarely performed Arthurian opera. Working with director Rodula Gaitanou and conductor Karsten Januschke, the design brought Chausson’s late-Romantic vision of King Arthur’s court to life with rich visual storytelling. The lighting design by Simon Corder enhanced the mythological atmosphere of the piece.
The production featured an international cast including Domen Križaj as Arthus, Anna Gabler as Genièvre, and Eric Laporte as Lancelot. The Tiroler Festspiele Erl is one of Austria’s most prestigious opera festivals, known for presenting both traditional repertoire and rarely performed works. This production showcased takis’s ability to create compelling designs for complex operatic narratives. View the complete gallery of production images above.
