Centrepoint 50th Anniversary Gala | Roundhouse, London, November 13, 2019
Charity gala celebrating 50 years of Centrepoint, the UK’s leading charity for homeless young people. The evening at the Roundhouse featured performances by Duran Duran and Rita Ora, with hosting by Claudia Winkleman and James Nesbitt, DJing by Nick Grimshaw, and spoken word by Hussain Manawer with young people supported by Centrepoint. Prince William, the charity’s patron, attended the event.
takis provided art direction for the gala, designing the visual identity and staging that framed the evening’s performances. The design needed to serve multiple purposes: create an elegant atmosphere for high-profile donors, provide professional staging for major artists, and—most importantly—center the stories and achievements of young people overcoming homelessness. The event raised funds toward a £1 million target to combat youth homelessness.
Founded in 1969, Centrepoint supports over 14,000 homeless young people each year through accommodation, health support, and life skills training. The 50th anniversary gala highlighted both the charity’s legacy and the ongoing crisis of youth homelessness in the UK.
