The Night That Flows | The Printworks, London, February 2, 2017
World’s first drive-through immersive theatre experience, created to launch the Toyota C-HR. Produced by experiential agency The Department, the seven-scene interactive production featured Hollywood star Milla Jovovich alongside European talent, telling the story of one fictional night across five cities: Berlin, Milan, Paris, Barcelona, and London. 100 guests drove through environments that brought each city to life, with each scene inspired by the C-HR’s design pillars.
takis served as designer and art director, creating the visual world for this unprecedented theatrical format. The production required sets that could be experienced from inside vehicles—a unique design challenge that combined theatrical spectacle with automotive showcase. Working with creative directors Jonny Grant and Hamish Jenkinson, takis collaborated with video designer Dick Straker at Mesmer, lighting designer Mark Howland, and performance directors from Les Enfants Terribles.
Each scene featured interactive elements where guests were secretly filmed to create personalized short films featuring them alongside Jovovich. The project demonstrated how theatrical design can extend beyond traditional venues to create brand experiences that genuinely innovate in form while maintaining theatrical values.
