This theatrical production of Tonight: The Eighties was presented at the Jaber Al-Ahmad Cultural Centre in Kuwait in 2018.
Takis served as Performance Designer and Video Designer (alongside Dick Straker), creating an immersive multimedia experience that celebrated the music and culture of the 1980s. Working with director Jassim Al Qames and producer Reham Alsamerai, the design integrated video projection, scenic elements, and lighting by Nic Farman to recreate the iconic visual style of the decade.
The Jaber Al-Ahmad Cultural Centre is Kuwait’s premier performing arts venue, a state-of-the-art facility opened in 2016. This production represented takis’s international reach and ability to create culturally resonant productions in diverse contexts. The multimedia design approach captured the technological optimism and visual aesthetics that defined the 1980s. View the complete gallery of production images above.
