This musical theatre production of Ain’t Misbehavin’, celebrating the music of jazz legend Fats Waller, was presented at Southwark Playhouse and Mercury Theatre in London in 2019.
Takis served as Performance Designer, creating costume design and set design that evoked the glamorous world of 1920s and 1930s Harlem jazz clubs. Under the direction of Tyrone Huntley and choreography by Oti Mabuse, the design created an intimate cabaret atmosphere that showcased Waller’s timeless music. The production’s visual style captured the era’s Art Deco elegance and the vibrant energy of the Harlem Renaissance.
This jukebox musical, with book by Murray Horwitz and Richard Maltby Jr., celebrates the wit, style, and infectious rhythms of Fats Waller’s catalog.
