This opera production of Iolanta by Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky was presented at Opera Holland Park in London in 2019.
Takis served as Performance Designer, creating costume design and set design for Tchaikovsky’s one-act opera about a blind princess. Working with director Olivia Fuchs and conductor Sian Edwards, the design brought visual poetry to this intimate work, creating a dreamlike atmosphere that complemented the opera’s themes of sight, darkness, and love. The lighting design by Mark Jonathan was integral to the production’s exploration of light and shadow.
The cast included Natalya Romaniw as Iolanta and David Butt Philip as Vaudémont. Opera Holland Park is one of London’s most distinctive opera venues, presenting productions in an outdoor theatre. View the complete gallery of production images above.
