This theatrical production of William Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream was presented at Shakespeare’s Globe Theatre in London during Summer 2023.
Takis served as Costume Designer for this production, working with director Elle While to create the visual world of Shakespeare’s enchanted forest. The costumes brought the play’s fairies, lovers, and mechanicals to life on the Globe’s iconic thrust stage, complementing the set design by Wills.
The production featured an ensemble cast including Michelle Terry as Puck, Marianne Oldham as Titania, Jack Laskey as Oberon/Theseus, and Mariah Gale as Bottom. Shakespeare’s Globe is one of the world’s most prestigious theatrical venues, dedicated to presenting Shakespeare’s works in conditions similar to the original Elizabethan theatre. This production showcased takis’s ability to design period-appropriate costumes that honor theatrical tradition while bringing contemporary energy.
